The Role
Organic Angels is currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced casual Picker / Packing Assistant to join our team.
The role will include:
Accurately picking and packing fresh produce boxes for individual customer orders, in a timely manner
Counting, sorting and preparing fresh produce for the day’s packing session
Weighing produce, to correct quantity, while ensuring good quality
Performing duties such as manual lifting, packaging, labelling & checking quality
Maintaining a clean & orderly working environment, and following safety requirements
Other general warehouse duties as required
NOTE: This is a fast-paced manual handling role, and it is an inherent requirement of the job that the candidate be physically fit to undertake the tasks required.
About You
As a key member of our team, you will be a confident communicator who has a professional, positive and friendly approach. Experience within hospitality, a food production facility or previous hand packing experience is preferred but not essential.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:
Excellent literacy and communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Numeracy: you will need to quickly mentally calculate correct amounts of fresh produce by weight or number
Great organisational and time management skills
A positive attitude and willingness to take direction
Ability to work well within a team environment
Capable of meeting packing targets (packing 6 -7 orders in an hour)
Reliable, punctual and flexible, and willing to work longer and/or extra shifts when required
A love for organic fruit & veggies!
Work Hours
This is a casual position requiring availability 3 days per week on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7am to 1 pm (approximately). The right person will have the flexibility to work longer or occasional extra shifts. Hours will vary from 15 – 24 hours per week.
